Texas Lions District 2-E2 Outstanding Youth Contest

Outstanding Youth Contest

The Lions of District 2-E2 are proud to sponsor the Outstanding Youth Contest, an annual competition that recognizes high school juniors, seniors, and immediate graduates who excel in academics, leadership, and community service.

This contest is more than a scholarship opportunity—it’s a celebration of character, integrity, and vision in young people who embody the spirit of service. Contestants submit academic records, letters of recommendation, a personal essay, and a summary of leadership and volunteer service, then participate in a personal interview with a panel of judges.

Why Students Should Apply

Are you a high school junior or senior with big dreams and a heart for service? The Outstanding Youth Contest is your chance to shine!

  • Tell Your Story: Share your leadership experiences and community service.
  • Write an Essay: This year’s theme is “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Its Impact on Education.” Explore how AI is changing learning, including opportunities for personalized learning and the challenges of educational inequality.
  • Meet the Judges: Enjoy a friendly interview that helps us get to know you and your ideas.

  • First Place: $2,000 and advancement to the Texas Lions MD-2 State Contest.
  • Second Place: $1,000 (sponsored by the 2-E2 Eyeglass Recycling Center).

At the State level, additional scholarships are available (up to $3,000).
