POSTING SERVICE HOURS ON THE LION PORTAL
LCI recently implemented a new process for recording service hours. Service hours will only be reflected in LCI Reports once they have been approved by one of the following: the secretary, club administrator, or president. While any of these roles can post service hours, approval must come from another authorized individual (e.g., if the secretary posts hours, the president or club administrator must approve them; if the club administrator or service chair posts, the secretary or president must approve).
Service hours that are posted but not approved will not be included in official reports. Unfortunately, many clubs in District 2-E2 are not showing any recorded service hours. Please see the attached information for more details.

Sanger Lions Club Honored with Lions Club of the Year Award
The Sanger Lions Club has been recognized with the prestigious Lions Club of the Year Award for Lions District 2E2. This award highlights the club's remarkable contributions and community service efforts within the Fort Worth and North Central Texas area, including their innovative "CUB Club" Young Leaders / SISD Heart of Gold Program.
The "CUB Club" is an initiative that engages children ages 2-12 in community outreach projects, while the Future Lions program involves youths aged 13-17, working alongside their families and other Lions Club members. These programs are designed to foster leadership and a sense of community responsibility from a young age. Additionally, the Young Leaders in Service Program offers high school students the chance to build their personal profiles through community service, an experience that is valuable for college applications, trade school admissions, and career development.
Lions District Governor Woody Matthes praised the Sanger Lions Club for their innovative approach to growing membership, particularly through family-oriented outreach projects. “By inviting young families to participate in community outreach, both parents and children are finding joy in giving back to the community, which has spurred greater interest in joining the Lions and CUB clubs,” said Matthes.
Under the leadership of Local Lions President Brad Allison, who received an International Leadership Award earlier this year from International President Dr. Patti Hill, the Sanger Lions Club has seen significant growth. The club has welcomed 12 new members, 10 children into the CUB program, and now boasts 50 students in the Young Leaders in Service Program, collectively logging 300 hours of community service over the past year.
Looking ahead, the Sanger Lions Club has several exciting projects planned for the fall, including the Purple Bus Adventurers Club fundraiser and the Lions Club Turtle Derby fundraiser. The club is also pleased to announce that the CUB Club and Future Lions programs have been expanded to include children with special needs, ensuring that all children in the community have the opportunity to participate.

Spotlight on the Grassroots Lions Award
The Grassroots Lions Award is dedicated to recognizing the unsung heroes within our Lions Clubs—those members who work tirelessly to uplift their communities and drive meaningful change from the ground up. This award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact through their local Lions Clubs, often making a significant difference without seeking recognition.
Each Lions Club in District 2-E2 is encouraged to nominate one individual who embodies the spirit of grassroots leadership. These nominees should be active members in good standing, who have provided outstanding service to both their community and club, and who have not held the office of Vice District Governor. The award aims to honor those whose contributions might go unnoticed but are essential to the success and strength of our Lions Clubs.
Recipients of the Grassroots Lions Award will be celebrated at this year’s District 2-E2 District Convention on May 2-3 in Fort Worth. Nominations should include compelling stories that highlight the nominee’s dedication and the positive impact they have had on their community.
To nominate a deserving Lion, please mail the Grassroots Nomination Application along with a $30 fee (which includes lunch for awardees) by April 18, 2025, to:

Marketing Tip:
Boost Your Club’s Reach with Facebook Ads
Maximize your Lions Club's visibility by using Facebook's "Boost Post" feature. When you share important updates, events, or community service projects on your Facebook page, consider boosting the post to reach a wider audience. Start by targeting specific demographics—such as location, age, and interests relevant to your club’s activities. Even a small budget can significantly increase your post’s reach, helping to raise awareness, attract new members, and enhance community engagement. Remember to include a clear call-to-action, like “Join Us” or “Learn More,” to encourage people to connect with your club.
