Spotlight on the Grassroots Lions Award
The Grassroots Lions Award is dedicated to recognizing the unsung heroes within our Lions Clubs—those members who work tirelessly to uplift their communities and drive meaningful change from the ground up. This award celebrates individuals who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact through their local Lions Clubs, often making a significant difference without seeking recognition.
Each Lions Club in District 2-E2 is encouraged to nominate one individual who embodies the spirit of grassroots leadership. These nominees should be active members in good standing, who have provided outstanding service to both their community and club, and who have not held the office of Vice District Governor. The award aims to honor those whose contributions might go unnoticed but are essential to the success and strength of our Lions Clubs.
Recipients of the Grassroots Lions Award will be celebrated at this year’s District 2-E2 District Convention on May 2-3 in Fort Worth. Nominations should include compelling stories that highlight the nominee’s dedication and the positive impact they have had on their community.
To nominate a deserving Lion, please mail the Grassroots Nomination Application along with a $30 fee (which includes lunch for awardees) by April 18, 2025, to:
Grassroots Chair Lion Logan Jones 1929 Palomino Blvd Crowley, TX 76036
Let’s take this opportunity to recognize and honor the grassroots leaders who truly make a difference!

Request for Coat Donations to Support Keller ISD Students
Dear Texas Lions District Members,
As we transition into the fall season, the Keller Lions Club is preparing for our annual coat drive, "It's Fall Y'all," which serves as a critical precursor to the colder months ahead. Many of you might recall that Keller ISD had to close its schools for two days last winter due to extreme cold temperatures. A significant factor in this decision was the unfortunate reality that many Keller students do not have adequate winter coats.
To provide some context, here are a few key statistics:
- Keller ISD serves 34,121 students. - 32% of these students, or approximately 10,919 across 40 campuses, come from economically disadvantaged households. - In Keller proper alone, there are 10 campuses, which translates to roughly 2,700 students who may lack proper winter clothing.
While we are blessed to live in such a supportive and caring community, the need for assistance is evident. To address this, the Keller Lions Club is seeking donations of new or "gently worn" coats in all sizes. We ask you to apply the standard of 'would you want your child to wear this?' when selecting coats to donate.
Since its founding in 1917, Lions Club International has been dedicated to serving local communities, and our own Keller chapter has been committed to this mission since 1948. We are calling on our fellow Lions across Texas to help us meet the local need and keep our students warm this winter.
Where to Donate? - Keller Lions Club Den (532 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX 76248) - Armstrong Chiropractic Center (353 Keller Pkwy, Keller, TX 76248) - JR's BBQ-N-More (121 Rufe Snow Dr Suite 127, Keller, TX 76248) - Milestone Church (201 Mount Gilead Road, Keller, TX 76248)
Goal: Collect 3,000 coats by November 1st!
What: New or Gently Used Coats Why: Over 30% of KISD students are in need of coats this winter Who: YOU - We need your donations!
Additionally, donations can be coordinated through our Keller Lions Club website at http://kellerlionsclub.com or by following us on Facebook at Keller Lions https://www.facebook.com/kellerlions.
Our goal is to collect 3,000 coats, and we believe that with your support, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our students this winter.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to serving others.

Marketing Tip:
As the Facebook admin for your Lions Club Facebook page, a great tip is to like and comment on local business pages that sponsor your club. By actively engaging with your sponsors' posts, you're not only showing appreciation but also strengthening the partnership and increasing visibility. Your comments and likes create opportunities for cross-promotion, showing your community the strong support network around the Lions Club.
This boosts both your club’s and the sponsor’s reach, fostering a sense of collaboration that resonates with the local audience. It’s a simple but effective way to maintain strong relationships and increase your page's engagement.
